Cambodia Day 2: Ta Prohm Temple

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

The final temple visit and the one that I found most interesting was Ta Prohm temple. The lost temple was hidden by vast acres of trees and now the temple itself is covered with trees from hundreds of years ago, giving it a tree blend of nature. Upon entering, I immediately fell in love with the large oversized tree roots that spurred and protected the temple against the test of time. Of course, one other reason why the temple is so famous is obviously due to the fact that Tomb Raider was shot here. I think this temple along made up for my whole trip to Cambodia. Whereas you can see ancient ruins and temples in most south Asian countries...but do you really get to see the miraculous integration between nature (tree roots) and temples  everyday? No...and that is why you need to come to Cambodia to see it to live it.
